Hook:Size 12 (can be dependent on the size of the sedges in the area being fished.)
Thread: Oval Thread (Olive)
Body: Olive Seals Fur
Wing: Deer Hair
Step one: Whip the thread onto the hook towards the tail of the hook stopping aroun the barb.
Step two: Using some dubbing wax on the thread you than take some seals fur between your fingers and using a twisting motion twist the fur onto the thread. (if you twist it in the one direction only it will take better). How slim a body depends on how fine a rope you want.
Step three: Whip the seals fur rope along the shank of the hook 3/4's ofthe way to the eye.
Step four: Take some deer hair and using a stacker get them the same length. Holding the bunch along the top of the shank checkin the length is not longer than the hook itself (mine is becuase I wasnt paying much attention). Using loose turns that gradually get tighter secure the deer hair to te shank tryin to make sure it doesnt twist.
Step five: Use a whip finishing tool to finish and trim the excess deer hair that is covering the eye.
Pretty simple dry fly to tie and very effective when there is a rise of sedges (obviously) using different colours for the body as there can be differences depending on where you are fishing and hving different profiles and sizes as well. Good Luck.
PS: Gonna do a muddler invicta next if people are
interested. Nearly always gets an explosive take for some reason.
